Lake George’s Shepard Park Amphitheater Bandstand Destroyed In Fire

The iconic Shepard Park amphitheater’s bandstand/stage in Lake George village was destroyed by fire about an hour before dawn on Sunday, June 30 — as the summer season in the village was approaching peak activity. According to the Sun Community News, the Lake George Fire Department was notified of the fire by Warren County Dispatch Center at 3:42 a.m. and firefighters responded to the scene to find the structure engulfed in flames. Concerts and programs are scheduled to occur nearly every day of the week through this summer in the amphitheater, but Perry said the activities would continue as planned.

Adirondack Health Institute’s Rural Communities Opioid Response Program (RCORP) has partnered with several agencies to launch the installation of three harm reduction vending machines.
